Now then, if you are looking for a motor which is reliable, economical, eye-catching and green then this is the one for you! Now ah ken what yer thinking "why's it listed as 'a green car?" Well thats because the words Suzuki Swift meant as much to me when i bought her last year as they do today, but it's a Suzuki Swift she is fae 2001, an excellent vintage and a car with many unique selling points. First, the important stuff MOT runs right through till April 2015, and the car needed very little done during its last visit tae the garage, though she did pick up a new set of tyres which will will keep ye on the road this coming winter. Road Tax runs only to the end of July, but this leaves you, the new owner with the option of purchasing a 6 month or 12 month disk, or I can organise this for you if we agree on a price. very economical runner, roughly 45 miles tae the gallon, £35 to fill the tank. 1,000cc engine means cheap insurance Next, the cool stuff As already mentioned this motor is a head-turner, with a 15 year vintage she's heading towards classic territory but still holds her own as a reliable little runner, both for a daily commute or for longer holiday longer trips. Comfortably sits 4, legally up tae 5, and aye ah no you were thinking we could pop the weans in the boot, but that's no why I put that picture up, 5 is yer limit! The seats are very comfortable and fold back if you fancy a kip during a long drive. Actually, as the sole driver of the car I've only ever sat in the drivers seat but my girlfriend assures me that the passenger seat is also comfy. I can however vouch for the passenger seats excellent storage space for snacks and a soft place to chuck yer phone when it starts vibrating in your pocket while yer driving. The pic of the boot is to show how spacious it is and gie ye an idea of how much messages you could get piled in there, tons! The petrol cap opens with the key so you cannie drive off with it still open pourin' yer fuel all over the shot, a nice wee design feature. Original cigarette lighter in full working order, excellent both for smokers or general pyromaniacs (though I would only recommend lighting cigarettes in the car) CD/Radio entertainment system. Now I know yer thinking that a tape player would be a bit more retro and fun in older motor like this, but ask yersel, did you really enjoy fishing bits of tape out the tape player wie a biro, or listening to squeeky versions of yer favourite tunes? Now its nae an MP3 player or whatever it is the kids listen tae, but again ask yerself, do you really gain anything fae flittin between aw they different songs on yer iplayer, nae the CD player lets you listen tae all yer old albums in full as they were intended. Or you could listen to the radio, that also works fine. Clock. Very handy for checking the time if yer wondering if your tea'll be ready when yer driving home fae work. Drinks holders, 2 of, can confidently handle up to 2 hot beverages, handles most major brands, Costa, Starbucks, Shell petrol station etc. Un-matching wheel trims. well I say un-matching, but there are two sets of 2 on the thing, and it looks better that when I went through a brief Mad Max phase in february and ran the thing wie nae wheel trims at all. Ah ken yer thinkin' some allows wid be nice, but that just means expensive tires, nae the wheel trims are one of the unique features! Now the only bummer: the driver side windae doesnae close right, you can get it closed, but its a guddle, and could really do wie gettin' fixed if yer one oh these types that likes to rock around wie yer arm hanging oot the windae. The passanger-side windae work fine though and I'm sure wie a bit of practice you could drive whilsthanging out the passanger-side windae, well if your day job is a circuis accrobat mibbie. Anyway thats the only small flaw I would bring yer attention to. All in all an excellent motor and a steal for the lucky person who presses £600 notes into ma paw, gies a bell and come view her today (well actually I'm away to Dublin till Sunday night, but gies an e-mail anyway!) The Lucky buyer will also get the very cool retro shades to get them started on their love affair with the Suzuki Swift! Oh aye, and I'll gie the motor a proper wash Monday morning when i get back!
