I Just stole Jack Wolfskins Guitar! :) Nah, The abalone claw inlays are part of this amazing guitars looks. The Guitar is a Spear Tomcat Golden Tiger and was the winner of Total Guitar Magazines sub £500 guitar comparison, beating names like Dean, Fender, Hammer and Gretsch offerings along the way. (Just do web search on the guitar name.) The body is solid mahogany with a heavy maple cap then a maple burr veneer. The neck is rock maple with a shaped, glued in neck making higher neck access a breeze. The serial no. Is MV09081547 The Hardware...originally equipped with a Seymour Duncan SH-04 in the bridge which is coil tapped via a push / pull on the tone pot and a Seymour Duncan SH-02 in the neck. Very High quality pickups but they tend to have very similar sounds, soooo.. I changed the bridge pickup to a genuine Gibson 500T and kept the tap facility. Amazing difference!, the whole guitar sound came alive and the more rocky 500T gave the guitar a (not surprisingly) more LP sound with the tap off and a more strat / tele sound with the tap switched on to single coil. The Duncan in the neck gives a wonderful bluesy tone as expected and the tonal potential of this guitar is now up there with the best. The guitar is fitted with black hardware including black locking Schaller tuners. The Guitar is in totally mint condition and retailed at £429. I’m looking for just £225 or will consider a trade as I’m a collector more than a player these days. Considering if you had to buy the pickups and machine heads alone it would cost you over £150 that’s a pretty decent price for a guitar of this quality. Many thanks for Looking.
