Gorgeous UNIQUE HOHNER telecaster professional TE CUSTOM. £380 ONO This guitar was in sunburst glossy nitrocellulose finish with yellow binding and black edges. This was HOHNER copy of Fender's 62 reissue telecaster by far superior than mexican teles and the cheaper Fender range. I sanded the body down to go back to bare wood. I patiently scratched the binding to go back to this beautiful ivory looking white delicate edge that contrasts superbly with a warm brown with a bit of red teints...A colour I made myself; a mix of different wood stains... There's two small wee spots where the binding is missing and the less perfect part is around the neck where it was very hard to access with a sander. It looks a bit 'patchy', less uniform but isn't so much visible while holding it/playing it. (Photo 6). The jack plate starts to crack, (photo 10) and you may want to replace it. I sanded the back of the neck for faster action. I polished it with some shoe polish for slight stain (it won't stay on your hands don't worry); polished the frets and oiled the fretboard. I also sanded the bridge, volume and tone pots and the control plate for a great satin finish. It truly is a stunning guitar and I am a bit sad to let it go. I am only selling to fund new toys. I upgraded the pick ups to some great Kent Armstrong. Much warmer pick ups that hold distortions wonderfully. (pick ups plus set up cost £200). You get a very special tone due to the weight of the body as well. It is heavier than a fender telecaster but ready to bet it sounds as good if not better. Not sure when it's been made but I reckon late 80's... Specs wise I believe it is a solid alder body (with binding), maple neck and rosewood fretboard (21 frets). The neck has a reasonably flatter fretboard. It is all good ready to play. You may have to work out the action a bit (saddle adjustments) but that is in general true for any guitars anyway. Comes with a spare set of locking tuners (never got a chance to put them on), two scratch plates, the original pickups, a red LEVY'S quality guitar strap (see photos) with genuine leather ends and a soft bag.
