The inspiration behind the social enterprise Yooz is to raise money for the charity Active4all (SCO 36591). Yooz is a social enterprise within the charity Active4All. It is Active4all’s dream to build a state of the art sports facility designed specifically for disabled people. In buying from Yooz, you are helping to make this dream come true. The sports centre will be the first of its kind in the UK and we need your help to make it happen! If you have been inspired by the Paralympics this summer, please come down to the Yooz Reuse and Recycling Centre to help our cause. The more money we raise, the more Active4All (SC0 36591) can help make sports more easily accessible for the disabled community. We are open Monday- Friday 9am-5.30pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. We are located in the blue sheds in the small industrial estate found behind the Aldi on Mossend Main Street. Yooz Re-Use & DIY Centre, Unthank Road, Bellshill, ML4 1DD. Directions: Drive past the burger van outside Aldi and turn right and follow round. We are the big blue warehouses. You can’t miss us! Free items are pick up only but we can deliver throughout central Scotland for paid items. Delivery starts from £1.20 per mile to the destination. Yooz has been in operation since 2009. At Yooz, we reclaim a range of materials from a variety of sources. We sell these onto the public - at up to 90% off the trade price! We have a large warehouse full of stock including office / computer desks, chairs, filing cabinets, some household furniture, many sizes of timber, brick and block work, paving, pallets, drainage piping, insulation, Kingspan, single glazing, double glazing, internal doors, stone work, kerbing, roof tiles, rock salt and much more (!!) Likewise if you – or someone you know – has unwanted, reusable building or office materials, please donate it to our charitable cause. Any businesses relocating or downsizing could donate unwanted stock to us – Yooz provides a cheap uplift service. Also, come to us if you’re starting up, or renovating, a project; at Yooz our brand name, good quality, second hand office furniture is heavily discounted for you. It is environmentally friendly and we can deliver to your door! Our ethos at Yooz is to re-use before we recycle. By reusing, you are positively affecting your local environment. Our re-‘Yooz’ motto is so important to us that 80% of the materials we pick up are re-used (the other 20% is recycled). Since 2009, Yooz have diverted 2600+ tonnes from landfill working towards Scotland’s Zero Waste Initiative. We divert approximately 30 tonnes every week. In buying from Yooz, you will save money, help a disabled charity and actively contribute towards a cleaner, greener Scotland. Your impact will be noticed. We want you to join the Yooz team. Currently we have over 10 volunteers but we’re always looking for more. Whether you have 5 hours or 50 hours, come along and help out in any way you can.
